You are quite right in your observation.
The only logical, reasonable and correct thing for any thinking christian to do is read the Bible, and allow Christ in the heart by the working of the Holy Spirit. This is what distinguishes christians from the secular world - whether they are catholics, methodists, pentacostals, charismatics etc. There is one point where they cannot dissagree - that Jesus is the son of the living God and a savior. If they dissagree on that one, it is not difficult to find the one in error - the Bible is the one that sets the records once and for all.

He did not say only he should be praised. He said only he should be worshiped. He did say to honor they Father and they Mother which we Catholics do. How do you honor Mary? If you are a Christian she should be your Mother too. Didn't Jesus give her to us when she stood beneath the cross with John? If he didn't then you are not of the body of Christ. Don't just about all denominations get out their little Nativity Sets come Christmas time? What are your statues then any different? No they are reminders of what is in Heaven already. We carry pictures of our relatives in our wallets, so this is much like that.
Don't be such a hateful person. Of course only the Trinity deserves worship but, I will tell you one thing. If Jesus was standing here now and heard you say the things you say he would say that he never knew you that's for sure.

You obviously don't understand what your talking about. We don't Praise or worship mary, We pray to her to help us. Mary is the mother of Jesus, and thefore the mother of God. She's a very holy person that was born without original sin. Just like any other saint, we pray to her to help us and guide us and to pray to God/Jesus for us. We use photos and statues and pictures not because we are worshipping the pictures themselves, but what they represent.

If you are not a Catholic you would not be aware of the difference between worshiping God/Jesus and praying to Mary or any other Saint. This is completely understandable.
For an oversimplified answer consult Luke Chapter One. In it the Angel Gabriel says to Mary, Hail the Lord is with thee. In the same manner, St. Elizabeth addresses Mary as the Mother of my Lord.

God didn't say that only He should be praised. He said that only He should be WORSHIPPED. And that is exactly what the Catholic Church teaches. The WORSHIP of anyone or anything other than God constitutes idolatry, which is absolutely condemned in all its forms by the Catholic Church. You can verify this in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We do however HONOR people, either living on earth or living in heaven, who have been instrumental in bringing the faith to us or who have served as outstanding models of Christian charity and faithfulness. No-one has been more instrumental in bringing us to the truth of Christ than Mary, who brought Christ Himself to us. Therefore we do honor her, but we do not, ever, worship her. God's Holy Church forbids it.

The graven images commandment states that there should be no images of God or gods. The Catholics say that Mary is not a god and is not worshipped, therefore her images are not prohibited graven images.

We do not worship Mary like you think . We ask her to pray for us just like you might pray for me if I was sick. As it says in the Bible , the prayers of the righteous availeth much. Is having a picture of your mother idolatry? We believe the Church is the Body of Christ. Mary is the Mother of Jesus. Therefore She is our spiritual mother.

It is okay to praise Mary for her humble attitude. But true Christians do not worship her. And they certainly don't pray to her. Jesus instructed his followers to pray to his Father ONLY. Matt. 6:9
The elevated position that Mary holds in the Catholic world is certainly not in accord with the Scriptures. When examining what the Bible record has to say about Mary, we are amazed at the scarcity of comment. Only one mention is made of her outside the Gospels. Neither the apostle Paul, nor the apostle Peter, nor Judas, the servant of Jesus, nor James, the brother of Jesus, make so much as one single mention of her in all their inspired writings. Mary is conspicuous by her absence of mention. Paul makes frequent references to faithful women, but never mentions Mary. Why such silence? There can be only one answer. The exalted offices of queen of the universe, queen of heaven and all creation, are purely man-made and have no basis in fact. Mary’s pre-eminence was “among women” only, because the Messiah was to be born of her: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!”—Luke 1:28, 42.

the first half of ur post sounds great ... ur right in what you mentioned ....
but for the other half ...... Jesus son of god !!!!!! FALSE
don't you have a brain , don't you think ....
Do God need to have a son to send for you
God is one he didn't born or birth ...
If he needs anything to happen he just say do it will happen
Jesus is not Gods son .... Juses is a prophet of god same as all the prophets
Jesus was created by God like Adam who was created without a father or mother ....
do you consider Adam son of God too ?
what about Eve was she the daughter of God ?
Jesus never said that he's God's son .....
that's great disbelief in God ...
we all should worship God and only God

Wow did Father K butcher Scripture! Lets see if we can put it back together again!
The woman in Genesis is not Mary. The woman (also mentioned in Revelation) is ISRAEL. The son IS Jesus and the rest of the offspring is US. The thought of Mary playing a role in our salvation is pure blasphemy. We are saved by grace through faith in Christ. (not his earthly mother)
Mary the new EVE? Where is that found in Scripture?
Mary certainly hosted Jesus' human flesh however she did not give birth to his deity and therefore cannot be literally called the "mother of God." Jesus and the Father are both "God" and have no mother. Flesh gives birth to flesh but spirit gives birth to spirit. (John 3:6)
Yes the Magi worship JESUS, not Mary.
Yes, Jesus is the son of God, but Mary did not give birth to his diety. His deity was from before creation. And no wonder Muslims get the idea that we believe God had sex with Mary; its basically RIGHT IN CATHOLIC THEOLOGY!
28The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." -Luke 1:28 An angel greeting mary is a sign we should pray to her? WHAT? Wow what a butcher job!
Just because one is favored by God does not mean they ARE God. We learn elsewhere that grace and truth come from Jesus, not Mary.
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. -John 1:17
Mary accepting Gods will is no different than any other Biblical character. Should we make Noah and Lot deities as well?
Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
Creator of heaven and earth. -Genesis 14:19 Does that mean we should pray through Abraham as well?
Father K blows it again, Mary cannot possibly be the mother of Jesus' deity because she had no hand in creation of it. How can Mary create something that was before Abraham and all creation. PURE BLASPHEMY.
John the Baptist leaps in a womb so that means we pray to Mary? HUH? John the Baptist was quite excited about Jesus his whole life, that doesnt mean we should worship Mary.
46And Mary said:
"My soul glorifies the Lord -Luke 1:46
Does this mean anybody who worships God is worthy of the same honor?
We call her blessed (honored) because she is so prominantly mentioned in Scripture. Just that is an honor in itself. This is not a call to worship Mary and non-Catholic churches do well not to break the 1st commandment and teach others to.
4But when (A)the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, (B)born of a woman, born (C)under the Law -Galatians 4:4
This is simpy saying that Jesus was born of a woman, it is not saying that Mary had a direct part in our salvation. If youre going to say that then we may as well say Peter and John had a part in salvation as well! Yet we dont worship them?
Saints=anybody who believes in God. All who have been sanctified by Christ are holy.
Please tell me he didnt use Luke 2:35! That is just WRONG on so many levels. First of all, Mary DOES have the honor of being a mother to Jesus (the human) Mary was told she was going to suffer because her SON would be EXECUTED and she would watch and standby helplessly! Many people have suffered for the sake of the Gospel even WORSE than her giving up their lives. Peter witnessed the crucifixion as well and was himself crucified. Does that mean he PLAYED a role in our redemption? Missionaires all over the globe suffer for Christ, does that mean they play a role in redemption? Absolutely not. Pure blasphemy!
Mary treasured in her heart the accomplishments of Jesus as ANY parent does when their child succeeds. This tells us nothing but the accomplishments and uniqueness of Jesus did not go unnoticed, doesnt mean we need to pray to her.
WOW! I never realized the depths of blasphemy with which Catholic theology sinks to! All this over a fundamental misunderstanding of the trinity and Marys relationship to Jesus.
Flesh cannot possibly give birth to anything but FLESH. Jesus' deity and salvation itself comes from Jesus Christ ALONE. Mary was a good Jewish girl and obviously faithful (probably why God chose her) that obeyed God. She is not literally the "MOTHER OF GOD" and should NOT under any circumstances ever be prayed to or worshipped. Praying to the dead is a form of divination as worshipping the dead is blasphemy.
