Do you think it's the actual faith that is curing? Is it a placebo effect?

Discuss.

Yup I know it doesn't point necessarily to the intervention of a higher power, but in general, I was curious what people thought about faith and healing, especially considering faith seemed to do something positive in this study.

she walked out of the hospital just weeks after being told she may never walk again
she stunned doctors

all i know is she is doing amazingly considering the extent and rarity of her stroke

Read the article completely. The study no where claims that any positive effects are the result of anything outside of the patience own mind or body. Seems like more of the placebo effect than anything else.
The study does not point to a "higher cause" but suggests that a strong dose of spirituality can reduce the emotional stress linked to obstacles in stroke recovery,

Actually studies point to a person's having a purpose leading to recovery. This includes having a sense of humor, family support, and religious faith. So i think that you can skew those results anyway you see fit but basicly the more reason a person has to live, the better chance they have at recovery.
