My son had samonella, trust me it can not be confused with a cold. Diarrhea, abdominal cramping, vomiting, listlessness... not the same as a head cold and cough. You will live. Toss the PB and relax, take some vitamin C and get some fresh, outdoor- sunshiney air

Salmonella is distinct from colds. Its main symptoms are nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. Achyness may also be present. While stomach symptoms can sometimes occur with colds (especially if you have anything like irritable bowel syndrome), you did not mention any gastric symptoms.
I do not believe you have salmonella. Sometimes the media will overplay things, and cause us to worry too much. I wouldn't worry about salmonella.
What I would worry about, however, is the frequency of your upper respiratory infections. That does not sound normal. You may just have been exposed to many germs this year, but I would not take chances, especially if that is not normal for you. It sounds also like (from what you described) you have a chronic cough. That tells me that you may have some respiratory condition.
What I suggest is to get it checked out. Ask your doctor why you are having so many infections.
Blessings to you,

Salmonella causes dehydration, nausea, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms. Not cold symptoms, Call your local doctor or pharmacists or see a doctor to see if you have salmonella in your system if you think you've recently ate something that may be contaminated w/ salmonella i.e. Peter Pan Peanut Butter.

Salmonella causes diarrhea and vomiting. It is unlikely that what you have is related to the Salmonella bacteria. However, if you are at all uncertain, I'd suggest seing a doctor. I'm pretty sure that in most cases Salmonella clears up on it's own after a certain period of time.

well it depends, have you had any diahrea or anything because if you do that gets rid of the good vitamins in your body which with out them you immune system can become weakened and you could be more prone to colds, flus, and infections...
