No. A more appropriate question is "what should I do?"

Jesus has given us all free will. To chose, to make a decision based on your morals and ethics. Quite simply, when asking "What would Jesus do"? Jesus would chose to do the right thing, whatever that may be.

definitely, you give a strong point, I think the only reason they say "what would Jesus do" is because it's easier for small children to remember. But I think adults should say that, because it makes more sense, good job.

In order to know what he would do if he were. He may never lied to someone but that doesnt mean that he woulld not have anything to say about it. WWJTD would prob be a more appropiate question yes. But 'telling' may imply hearing his voice and that could be a questionable thing in the churches.

No,If you are ethical enough to judge whether Jesus is ethical, then you dont need to ask what would Jesus tell me to do since you are already capable of ethical thinking. Just do what you think you should do.

You have a really good point.

I think sometimes when people get into a situation that involves them but they did not initiate the problem......one might ask themselves "what would Jesus do?"

I think this question refers to the idea that Christians are to pattern their lives after Christ, trying to become more like him. As we are not God in the flesh, we can never reach that goal, of course; but that is what we aspire to.

its not about the situation youre in, its about how you behave and the choices you make. so, no, he wouldnt lie...thats what he would do...he wouldnt put himself in situations like that. its a guide line to go by for our actions and making choices.
