It's different for every girl. Some get it at the young age of 11 and some don't get it till 16. There really is no exact age or time. I really do think that you should talk to your mom about this, honey. She will have all the answers to the questions you might have. People here, might give you misguided answers, so your mom is the best bet.

There's one thing you can be sure of, nobody can tell you when you are going to start your period. They do say that some will start close to the same age as their Mom or sisters. If you start developing or notice a new tenderness in your breast you may be getting close but really it will happen when it's suppose to and not any sooner. Then after a couple of years of having it you will wonder why in the world you were ever in a hurry for this to happen! Good Luck!

That is a problem, and unfortunately you never know. I didn't start until I was 15, but many friends started much earlier. The best thing to do is carry a pad in your purse. You will feel the dampness, and then the menstral blood will be just a slight catsup stain on your undies. At that age, you are not apt to feel any cramping, or other signs. Bless you

It's been so long since I started, I don't remember if thier were any signs. I had just woke up one morning and my panties were lookin' like bloody mary. But now that I'm more intuned to my body I always know when it's coming. Usually a week before I feel slight cramps down there and I get bloated and become REAL hungry and my breast get sore. PMS. And right before I actually start bleeding I get this "period feeling" down there that let's me know I better wear a pany liner.

I am not sure why you wouldnt want to talk with your mom about this, because I am sure she could be very helpful to you. My daughter is 13 as well, and she is worried about the same thing. Everyone develops differently, but I know that one sign is clear discharge. Good luck! It will happen soon!

yeah as u probably know everyone gets it at different times in our lives so if u are 13 no need to be alarmed but i thi nk u should just talk to your mum about it coz i told mum about mine and i was as scared as hell but then i was ok when i got it coz mum got home from work and looked after me (I was upset that I got it at 13 1/2)

Usually you'll start around the same time your mom should have started hers when she was young. So my only advice is to talk about with your mama

I think any time between 12 - 14 is normal. Hang in there, it should happen soon.
