In my family, my dad and I always have arguments and conflict with each other. My dad is pretty much the leader of the household, but I have a dominant personality. This causes lots of disagreement.
Any ideas on how to prevent conflict?

Your father is the head of the household. He is the voice of authority there, whether you like it or not. The best way for you to avoid conflict is to be respectful towards him. If he has assigned household chores to you, then, get them done soon. If he says to be in at a certain time, then be in at that time. As his child who STILL lives under HIS roof, whom HE is SUPPORTING, it is your job to be obedient to your parents. And that, my dear, is the best way to avoid conflict.

You're no going to be able to prevent the conflict but you can handle it after the fact. You just need to decide what is more important winning th argument or your relationship with your dad? then you calmly back away and just talk it out.

Good luck

Respect him more. He is the father. He is the head of household with your mom. You are neither. Open your ears and your mind because you may just learn something.

Respect him as your father and his position of man of the house. When you have your own house, you can dominate it all you want. In the meantime, you live in his house and he deserves your respect.
