They actually are the ones that have original copies of most of the documents in the Pearl of Great Price. Here are some reasons, however, why they don't use it as scripture:
1. First and foremost, the "Pearl of Great Price" was not compiled and identified as such until several years after the exodus to the Great Basin, which was of course after the RLDS split. The Pearl of Great Price has been copyrighted and belongs to the LDS Church.
2. Part of the PoGP is the Joseph Smith - History. Since the Comm of Christ plays down Joseph Smith's history (if they outrightly propogated visions and angels, they would no longer receive funding from independant financing groups), they can't call the JS-H 'scripture'
3. All of the book of 'Moses' and all of JS-Matthew appears in the 'Inspired Version' of the Bible (the full JST, not just bits and pieces like you find in the LDS printing of the KJV) as chapters 1-8 of Genesis and the book of Matthew.
4. The Articles of Faith are also copyrighted by the LDS Church and therefore cannot be used by any other Church

Jesus taught us about the Pearl of Great Price in Matthew 13:45,46. I don't know who you are calling the Community of Christ, but all Christians who believe in Bible Scripture know
Matthew 13:45 & 46 are the Scriptures about the Pearl of Great Price.

Why does the Pearl of Great Price community not accept Christianity? Or Islam? Or Judaism, even? Your answer to that is probably the answer you're looking for from them.

Your question is confusing. The Pearl of Great Price is a parable in Matthew 13:45,46. That sorta counts as scripture. So where does the question come in?

The Pearl of Great Price is an LDS(Mormon) scripture. I think you have to understand the particular religion in order to understand the book. I myself am going to try reading it soon.

The Word of God is the true Pearl of Great Price.
The pearl of great price evaluated by this man is considered as dust to the other one. What pearl of man can exchange for the fortune of Bill Gate? What fortune of Bill Gate can exchange for the Water of Life that Christ gave freely to mankind?

That is just one of many writings not accepted as scripture. F.Y.I.-
The New Testament was not originally an accepted part of the Bible. There are many many books that are still not accepted as the Divinely inspired word of God.
