the thing that makes hot foods (like peppers) hot is a chemical called capsaicin, which produces a sensation of burning to any tissue it comes in contact with. As far as I know, Capsaicin is not an acid.
Drinking or eating foods high in fats and oils helps because the oils mix with the chemicals in the food and lifts it off your tongue. Alcohol also "Puts out the flames" of hot foods. And, if you're patient, the effects of the spicy food will dissipate on it's own

'spicy' is not an acidic problem.... and,anyway, milk does contain calcium - an antacid. Anyway, milk is an acid???? I doubt it!

Milk is only slightly acid ( 6.7 ) 7.0 is nuetral. Also, milk is almost 90% water.
