Fastnacht is actually the name of a carnival celebrated in Germany and Austria and Switzerland. But it's also a dutch dough fried in lard supposably. Paczki are polish and are made of a heavier dough and filled with different fillings. If you really want to try paczki though go to an actual bakery or deli that makes them. All the other imitations aren't the real thing they taste like dougnuts from dunkin donuts and paczki are actually quite different.

I don't think so. The baker at The Qtown Bakery told me that Fastnatchts are not filled, while Packzis are. It is my first time trying Fastnatchts so I hope they are as good & gooey as their polish counterparts!
