Just now, as I am thinking, alot of my frineds, my fiance included, are heavily tattooed and modified, and most of them are either active military or ex-military and almost all of those people either lean, or are completely right-wing. I would think that a military background would have alot to do with it, don't you? Plus, I understand that the US military has become more relaxed as to the restrictions on tattoos.

What is everybody's thoughts/opinions on this?

Thats actually a rather good thought provoking question.

I know very few military right wing guys, but those that I do know are very anti-ink. Given, I live in Connecticut, with the submarine base, but I have found more liberals at the sub base than conservatives. The liberals dont feel the need to emasculate themselves with tattoos, but those that do are not judged for it.

CT is also a very liberal state - I know far more liberals with tattoos than conservatives.

I'm former military, have no tattoos and consider myself conservative. In the military, you learn about the best and worst of government and learn to truly love your country. You learn about beurocracy, government spending, socialism, sacrifice for your country, the values of freedom of speech, the right to bear arms and due process. You get a real hatred of those who never lifted a finger for America yet enjoy the freedoms like America bashing. You earn entitlement and wonder why some people have to do absolutely nothing to recieve an entitlement. You learn deeper respect the flag and want to beat someones assfor burning it.

You're right about the tattoos...although it depends on their job and rank.
But as to their politics....I really don't know. I am with a Marine and he is republican. And many of his friends are. But I know many others who are liberals.

I find it interesting though that most were the opposite before they went into the military. So for some...the military changed them.

I agree with you and think that your idea is a pretty accurate, though I'm sure there are a few exceptions (there always are)

I won't put my two cents in about war and politics because I'll start a fight. All I will say is that I enjoy being in this country, but still grit my teeth far too often about how some things are...

my dad just the other day put a question on here as far as who was liberal or conservative and who had the most tattoos out of the bunch. there were more liberals that had tattoos but the conservatives had many more tattoos per person. i am pretty conservative myself as are many of my friends who are tattooed.
