I've had that a number of times after a visit, usually when something is really out and finally goes in to place...

it was summed up to me as it being the toxins that are released from the location(s) of the adjustment and going through your system. I would always drink lots of water after such an adjustment to help flush my system faster, it's usually gone in a day.

If it's lingering longer than a day, talk to your chiro about it.

good luck

I get headaches from the chiropractor after he adjusts my neck. This is because I have/had a muscle knot in the back of my neck that would cause headaches (even when not going to the chiropractor) as this muscle knot was mostly worked out I would get headaches again because it would stretch my muscles and the knot would get larger again. This seems like counter productive but to prevent muscle knots you have to stretch and excersize your muscles so that little strains don't cause knots later on. If you think you may have a similar problem try putting a hot pad on your neck for 20 minutes at a time then 20 minutes off.

I agree with bilko_ca. Drink lots of water. Also, sometimes the adjustments stresses the muscles, as they have to adjust themselves to the new alignment.

And yes, if it persists, contact the chiropractor again. If this was your first time with him/her, s/he may have a rougher touch than you'd like. Talk it over with him/her.
