Back in 1994? When I was in Turkey I was told that Noah's Ark was found, but that the Turkesh Goverment would not allow other country in to discove it being that it was burried in a mountian. I was wondering if anyone has ever been allowed in to Turkey to find it and where it is, and if any pictures of it have been taken? I do believe it exist, what do you think?

Since the 19th century, there have been numerous attempts to find the ark on the mountains of Ararat. These mountains have two prominent peaks, one 16,950 feet high and the other 12,840 feet. The higher of the two is perpetually covered by snow. Because of the climatic changes that followed the Flood, the ark would soon have been buried by snow. Some investigators firmly believe that the ark is still there, buried deep in a glacier. They claim that there have been periods when the ice melted sufficiently to permit part of the ark to be exposed temporarily.

The book In Search of Noah’s Ark quotes George Hagopian, an Armenian, who claimed that he climbed Mount Ararat and saw the ark in 1902 and again in 1904. On the first visit, he said, he actually climbed on top of the ark. “I stood up straight and looked all over the ship. It was long. The height was about forty feet.” Regarding his observation on his subsequent visit, he said: “I didn’t see any real curves. It was unlike any other boat I have ever seen. It looked more like a flat-bottomed barge.”

From 1952 to 1969, Fernand Navarra made four efforts to find evidence of the ark. On his third trip to Mount Ararat, he worked his way to the bottom of a crevasse in a glacier, where he found a piece of black wood embedded in the ice. “It must have been very long,” he said, “and perhaps still attached to other parts of the ship’s framework. I could only cut along the grain until I split off a piece about five feet long.”

Professor Richard Bliss, one of several experts who examined the wood, said: “The Navarra wood sample is a structural beam and impregnated with bituminous pitch. It has mortise and tenon joints. And it’s definitely hand-hewn and squared.” The estimated age of the wood was set at about four or five thousand years.

Although efforts have been made to find the ark on Mount Ararat, the definite proof that it was used to survive a cataclysmic deluge exists in the written record of that event in the Bible book of Genesis.

The ark had a carrying capacity equal to that of 10 freight trains of about 25 American boxcars each!

No, Noah's ark has never been found. There are people who believe it is embedded in Mt. Ararat in Turkey because there is a land form in the side of the mountain that resembles the dimensions of a ship. But did you know there is a land form on the top of a mountain or plateau in Africa that looks like the Playboy bunny? I wonder if that's proof of the divinity of Hugh Heffner.

But think about this logically. The summit of Mt Ararat is almost 17,000 feet above sea level. Even if every drop of ice in the world were melted, the sea level would only rise about 25 feet. Even if you take the worst rain imaginable over the entire globe, it's impossible to imagine sea levels rising 17,000 feet. While it's likely that Mt. Ararat was once under the sea, that would have been millions of years before man existed. So how would you explain a massive shipping being embedded in a mountain some 17,000 feet above sea level.

There are some people who believe that the Ark is on top of of Mount Ararat.

There is an anomaly up there that some people claim to be of human construction. Others claim it to be a natural rock feature. No one has done a detailed study of it mainly because of Turkey prohibiting and expedition. I watched a show about it on History Channel. They used some detailed satelite photos. There were some geologists who said it was a natural formation, but the story will hang around until someone finally gets up there to examine it closely.

Check the article that you gave. Those are pictures from a mountian in Iran. The people claim that the ark is there and not in Turkey. Also, a good geologist will tell you those are natural rocks. Here is a great pic of how basalt can look man-made:

It's one of those discoveries that never seems to end up with solid proof. Not Troy, more Atlantis or Lemuria. The only evidence ever brought down from the mountain turned out to be wood which was dated to millennia after the Ark would have been built.

There is, on the other hand, evidence of a flood in the Black Sea and of tsunamis in the Mediterranean which may have inspired the flood myths in the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Bible.

Noah's Ark, though, is still a total myth.

It could be true or it could not. If Turkey is a Muslim occupied territory, then history of the Jews must be erased first so they could claim right for owning the proof. They started already by disclaiming truth about the holocaust, they already have claimed that it was Ysmael who was offered by Abraham instead of Isaac, in some parts of Iraq, there already is a teaching that the Old Testament was originally written by them and stoled by the Jews and Christians. so, let's just wait for those things to be proven and the ark of the covenant will be made known,.

It has never been found, in Turkey or anywhere else. And it will never be found for the simple reason that the story of Noah's Ark is a myth.
