No, don't worry about it. The docs know what they are doing. It will be over before you know what is going on.
I thinkan epidural is the way to go. I am male, but I saw my wife go through this, both ways. Without she swore no more kids, no more me, no more nothing, with, we both enjoyed the birth of our second girl.
Good luck. A little woozyness is a whole lot better than a lot of sxreaming, and forgetting. Go for it.

Maybe if you had a fused spine, but the needle is so much smaller than any space allowed by cartilage that I doubt it would cause a problem. Perhaps if you had a complete idiot for an anesthesiologist, but you should be fine.
I'd be more worried about the side-effects of the epidural.

Skip the epidural if at all possible, it makes it hard to feel to push the baby out. Plus, have you ever seen someone get one? It looks brutal, they inject stuff in your spine...

Having as much ability to move as possible will help. So - massage to get your muscles to loosen up is good.
Read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
Trigger points are knots in the muscles making them tight which in turn causes them to apply pressure to nerves and other places.
