i want a granny perm and my gran says she will do it - she is good at home perms and does my mums and her own too. do you think i should go ahead with it? oppinons please.

Hmm, it depends what you like! But I wouldn't recommend doing it at home though! Years back I went to a bad salon and ended up with losing a lot of hair! be careful!
So, if you really want one, go to a good salon!

Go ahead and get your granny perm and make your appointment for your weekly shampoo and roller set as well
My gran normally perms her hair every few weeks as she finds it gives her hair more volume every time she gets her weekly set at the salon or at home.
Also remember and get the standard short hair cut just like most of the older women so that your hair is the correct length for small rollers

First of all try rolling your hair on perm rods,see how it looks when you take it down,if you like it go to a professional. your granny may be one.you didn't say if she went to school to do this.so if she did then by all means let her do it. if you don't like it after you test it.then you can just wash it out there is no harm done.

why the hell would you want a granny perm, they never ever look good, first they look too tight and frizzy and then they drop and look lank, and they dry your hair out way too much also if you have any colour on your hair it wouldt be recommended unless you wanted to take your hair home in a carrier bag!!!

have a perm yes,but in a salon,you would regret having a home perm ,and it would cost you loads to get it put right,it is very ageing to have that look..

I've never cared what people think so I wouldn't listen to any ones crap. Go for it! Granny's been around a lot longer than us. She knows what she's doing.
