YES, I totally agree, the truth DOES hurt sometimes.
Guess that's why non believers have such a hard time with The Bible.
Hey, thanks for pointing that out!

Religion has been imploding for years and would continue even if Science didn't exist. Science just makes it so much easier.
Four Stages of Development
Stage I: Chaotic, antisocial. A stage of undeveloped spirituality. The Stage 1 person is selfish, disordered, and generally incapable of loving others.
Stage II: Formal, institutional. The stage II person, typified by many churchgoers, is usually attached to the forms rather than the essence of her religion, and she may quickly take offense at anyone who attacks these forms. Personal stability and outward appearances are very important to her.
Stage III: Skeptic, individual. The stage III person is often referred to as a “nonbeliever” because he has given up being “conventional”. He thinks independently and is often deeply involved in social causes. An advanced stage III individual is an active truth-seeker.
Stage IV: Mystic, communal. This is the stage of unity. A person arriving at stage 4 sees an underlying connectedness between herself, other creatures, and her surroundings. With little or no outside prodding, and as a confident yet humble, self governing human being, she reaches out to others in recognition of the whole world as part of her community. “Mystics” comprehend the value of emptiness. Rather than being frightened by the enormity of the unknown, they acknowledge it and immerse themselves even deeper into it, that they may understand more.

I'm a Christian and believe in evolution. It hardly conquers religion. Your statement doesn't make sense. There are many religions that don't espouse any problems with evolutionary theory, and as a Christian (though admittedly not a mainstream one) I see no conflict with the two.

Truth hurts sometimes. What makes you think that all Christians don't believe in evolution. And that evolution and creation are oppisites and contradict each other. You are talkoing about one of the most debated texts in the bible!

How is this a question? Are you saying that you are hurt by the truth that evolution and Religion can co-exist. God started evolution and evolution continues to take us to God. Evolution is about religion. It is about how our understanding of our relationship with God has evolved and grown from the cave people worshiping some gods they were afraid of to God coming to earth as Jesus to live with us and to help us live with each other.

I'm an Episcopalian and accept the theory of evolution. I have no problem with either one existing with the other. I'm quite content and happy with things just as they are.

you mean the evolution that said we evolved from apes yet somehow no other animal has even begun to truly evolve? evolution does not prove that God does not exist
EDIT: I know we supposedly didn't come from apes, but that was the non-PC way of saying it. Anyways, i do believe in evolution

How does an unproven theory of science disprove anything having to do with God?
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God -2 Corinthians 4:4

Why yes, the truth does hurt. The problem is that you think you know the truth when in reality you are far from it. Ultimately you will know the truth and I hope and pray you adjust your thinking and actions in respect to the REAL truth before it is to late. Read John 3:16.
