I have a crush on my dentist. If I were to ask him out on a date, are there any laws or unwritten rules against him accepting? (Canada)

these answers have me rofl, you're all right... I'd hate to have to see him if he'd turned me down... now I am cute but my teeth are in terrible condition. Both his assistants are cute girls too... It's probably best if I just keep my mouth shut about this one ;)

NO IT IS AGAINST ETHICAL CODE OF CONDUCT FOR MEDICAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONERS TO DO SO. HE WILL HAVE TO STOP TREATING YOU AND YOU WILL HAVE TO BE TREATED BY ANOTHER DENTIST THEN ONLY CAN ANYTHING BE PERSUED!!!

Has he ever put you under with gas?
If so he has probably undressed you and just sat there on the spinnie stool staring at you. That's basically an unwritten rule amongst dentists.

So keep that in mind, but besides that, if you are cute and he is single he probably day dreams about taking you out.

If it does end poorly though - you will probably have to find a new dentist. So keep that in mind also.

You should find out if he's seeing anyone and how old he is (like if you're ten years his junior that's not a good idea). Then if he's single wait until he fixes your teeth and casually ask him out. But if he turns you down or the date goes badly you will probably have to find a new dentist. Think positively, though. And don't think about it as asking out your dentist -- he person with a social life, just like everyone else.

My grandma is my dentist. I am a girl. If I had a crush on my dentist, things would be extremely complicated.

Although there are no rules against it that I know of, be prepared. If he turns you down. Are you going to keep getting your dental work done by him? And, it's a bonus if you have great teeth :)
Good luck with that.

I guess make sure he isn't married. And if he isn't why would there be a problem asking him out?
