I think it is time for a quote
"I dont think you trust
in my self-righeous suicide
I cry when angls deserve to die
Father, Father, Father, Father,
Father/ Into your hands/I/commend my spirit,
Father, into your hands,
Why have you forsaken me,
In your eyes forsaken me,
In your thoughts forsaken me,
In your heart forsaken, me oh
Trust in my self righteous suicide,
I, cry, when angels deserve to die,
In my self righteous suicide,
I, cry, when angels deserve to die

What makes you think He killed Himself? From what I recall it was His own that put Him there, and of course the final decision of Pilot. You are correct He could have probably taken a different course and prevented His death, but because He loved mankind, and because He wanted to do the will of the Father, He subjected Himself to the people. Because He died perfect, only He could redeem mankind.

Jesus did not kill Himself. He was put to death by the Romans due to the condemnation of the Sandhedrin. He ALLOWED Himself to be put to death as that was the purpose for His incarnation in the first place. He came here to die and He knew it.

I would too if I was a Jew in Ancient Rome! The Romans may have advanced us technologically and given us new basis for a court system and societal structure, but they still treated non-Romans like crap.

To show obedience to His Father in perfectly teaching mankind the divine lesson of selfless love.
His own life is clearly not for possessing anything of this world.

The sacrifice for sinful man had to be from a perfect person.....which means this person had to be Deity, but also man.....so that He could bleed and die and take on our sins.
Read the book of Hebrews....explains it all.
