The Koran was not written down in Mohammeds time. The men writing it were not inspired.
According to one tradition, during Abu Bakr’s brief caliphate (632-634), ‘Umar, who himself was to succeed to the caliphate in 634, became worried at the fact that so many Muslims who had known the Koran by heart were killed during the Battle of Yamama, in Central Arabia. There was a real danger that parts of the Koran would be irretrievably lost unless a collection of the Koran was made before more of those who knew this or that part of the Koran by heart were killed. Abu Bakr eventually gave his consent to such a project, and asked Zayd ibn Thabit, the former secretary of the Prophet, to undertake this daunting task. So Zayd proceeded to collect the Koran "from pieces of papyrus, flat stones, palm leaves, shoulder blades and ribs of animals, pieces of leather and wooden boards, as well as from the hearts of men." Zayd then copied out what he had collected on sheets or leaves (Arabic, suhuf). Once complete, the Koran was handed over to Abu Bakr, and on his death passed to ‘Umar, and upon his death passed to ‘Umar’s daughter, Hafsa.
Variant Versions, Verses Missing, Verses Added
As-Suyuti (died 1505), one of the most famous and revered of the commentators of the Koran, quotes Ibn ‘Umar al Khattab as saying: "Let no one of you say that he has acquired the entire Quran, for how does he know that it is all? Much of the Quran has been lost, thus let him say, ‘I have acquired of it what is available’" (As-Suyuti, Itqan, part 3, page 72). A’isha, the favorite wife of the Prophet, says, also according to a tradition recounted by as-Suynti, "During the time of the Prophet, the chapter of the Parties used to be two hundred verses when read. When ‘Uthman edited the copies of the Quran, only the current (verses) were recorded" (73).

The Qurans verses are not all in the same order as they were revealed to prophet muhammad.
When you buy a proper Quran, you will see when each and every sura (chapter) was revealed and where: either mecca or medina
the prophet had shown the scrolls to Gabriel during his time and was sure of not missing any verse.
These scrolls were all later compiled by the caliphs and standardized.
The order might be different but the verses have remained unchanged due to the diligence of protecting the verses from tampering hands.
A properly educated Muslim would give his/her life to protect the authenticity of the Qurans verses. That includes me.

In Sura 18.86 of the Quran, Allah says the sun sets in a dirty pond on earth. If Allah is the creator, how could Allah make such a stupid mistake? Shouldn’t Allah have known the world to be round and the sun does not dip into a dirty pond on earth everyday, unless Allah is not God and the Quran is not from God. In the Quran, Sura 2.106 and 16.101, Allah says he re-edited the verses in the Quran and abrogated other verses for better ones. If Allah is God, then he did not need to change what he wrote in the first instance, because it should have been perfect. But re-writing the Quran seems to be not God to me and Allah is just as a man, making corrections to his own work.

I can easily prove your point wrong. The Quran is the word of God. The Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) and he spread islam as God wanted. The Quran wasn't written by a bunch of men, I think you have it confused with the bible, which has been tampered with and edited so much that its not the true bible.

I think you're saying why the Quran doesn't start with saying in the name of God. Right?
If so, then the following is my answer:
Every surah, except one, in the Quran starts with "Bism-e allah-e rahman-el rahim"
bism-e allah means In the name of God
And of course the first surah in the Quran stars with In the name of God.....

The Qur'an wasn't revealed in order. It was revealed by Jibreal to Muhammed(PBUH*) in the order ALLAH wanted it revealed upon Muhammed(PBUH*). And the Qur'an can never be changed or altered by man.
