I received this bottle as part of taking out an Insurance policy but would like to raise some money to keep my son at University. Not sure how I go about selling it. Hope you can help.

Has it been stored correctly? Where has it been stored? How?

It's retail value is under $200 (US)- perhaps you can keep it to celebrate his graduation?

If you are serious about selling it, try visiting either http://www.winecommune.com or doing a search for wine auctions. You can also visit a local wine shop or fine dining restaurants and ask if they know of any distributors who would be interested in purchasing it. They may be able to steer you towards a vintage wine distributor.

Good luck to you. : )

You won't get much for it, as Churchill Cellars is selling jeroboams of the same wine for US$825 (about £420). A jeroboam = 4 75cl bottles or a double magnum, and all wines sold in bigger bottles command a higher price. Therefore I would put the value of your bottle at around £65 to £75 on the open market if it is in top condition.

Christies do wine auctions but you might be better to contact a small wine dealer - the only one I know is David Roberts Domaines - internet site.

Idont think 1982 was a vintage year, and even if its been stored correctly its probably only worth £200 tops. sorry but dont think it will keep your son in uni for long.

Try a wine/champagne auction. Look up the net to see where the nearest one to your area is.

I'll swap you a 3 unit set of AMC Pacer hubcaps for it, and throw in a gen-u-wine 1971 Delco AM radio.
