If you want something, you have to respect everything that comes along with it. The rose is beautiful, but it also has something that could potentially hurt you if you aren't careful. I think that it's a great quote.

you can't separate the good from the bad if you want the good to mean anything to you. or. you have to take the good with the bad.
if you want something good you must want it enough to take the parts you don't want as well. or. somethings can't be separated
