Keep bottled water with you and drink often. Keep your throat
lubricated. Drink lots of tea when you are at home or on break.
Gargle with Listerine or some new hydrating thing that just came
on the market. I teach also , not in a school setting, and only a few hours 2 times a week. I haven't seen any of the teachers
have your problem. You should see a Physician just to be safe,

Drink some tea (orange and lemon are always nice) with some honey stirred in. It always works for me! A trip to the ear, nose, and throat doctor probably wouldn't hurt, too. Feel better soon!

I had a teacher that use to use a microphone when she lost her voice (she also sang on the side)....... but I would recommend alca seltzer cold and flu..... when I lost my voice due to sore throat it helped soothe the pain...... also dont whisper it causes more strain on your vocal cords.

Garge with salt water,
Cepostal (sp) makes these cough drops with a numbing agent in them....GREAT!!
Menthol cough drops,
Hot tea with lemon and honey,
or try a pepper mint if you have nothing else on hand. Sometimes candy helps...even though the teachers say no eating in class :p
