i was a cashier at a grocery store for about 4 months, i met her on her second day after her training and i was asked to train her while she learned the cash register. this was back when we were 16, now were 22.
i knew right off the bat that i wanted to make her part of my life, i basically told everybody that before her. a friend let her know i thought she was cute, she called me but i wasnt home lol.
the next day we talked for what seemed like all night about things, and now, 6 years later, were gunna get married.
we had our share of problems, but to be at the level of happiness im at now was all worth it. I love this girl, Id do anything for her and WILL make her happy everyday of her life.
and it all started at a cash register..

Trust me...you don't want to walk around telling people you met your significant other at a bar anyway! It kinda feels second rate. There ARE much better ways out there. You could potentially meet people at school, work or even the most unexpected place such as you just happen to be walking down the street or jogging in the park one day or you're on the subway/bus and there she is! But you have to be prepared to make the dream a reality. Always be prepared with some sort of conversation starter (i.e. if you're jogging and you see someone of potential interest you can ask where to get some water or something along those lines). Get involved in something you enjoy doing. That's a great way to meet people. Even if you get involved in something not necessarily gay related you're bound to meet gay people. Gay people are everywhere! You just have to open your eyes a little wider.

It was 5 years ago. I was in a club, i was 18 years old, he was 22.
He was DJing in a London club; i was there with some friends.
I was at this club the same night every week but as the DJ booth was hidden away i didn't really notice him.
I was at the bar one week, and he was also there getting a drink. He asked if i wanted a drink, (i said no) we started laughing then talking. All of a sudden we realised there was no music playing anymore; he'd forgotten he was actually there to work so he legged it! Luckily there weren't many people in the club at the time! I asked for his number later that evening as my sisters birthday was coming up and she needed the number of a good DJ, and he's excellent (i'm biased obviously, but he's actually really good!) I had no feelings for him at all at this point, so it really wasn't a 'love at first sight' thing!
I soon stopped going to the club, but found his number a little while later so called him to arrange my sisters birthday. We spoke on the phone briefly, then i spoke to him again a few days later, and from there we started talking 2... then 3... then 5 times a day! And nothing by the way was said about my sisters birthday!
We are now getting married in April, and i thank my lucky stars every day that a picked that particular club to go to every week! Oh, and i thank my sister too for giving us an excuse to start talking!

I first saw him 20 years ago at a wedding (1987). His first cousin was marrying my first cousin. I was 18 and he was 24. It was my senior year in high school. A few months later we met again when I was doing training for a CNA class in his department at the hospital where he was working. He came to my graduation and we started dating shortly thereafter. We only dated for three months and then ran off and eloped (long story, issues w/ my family). Had first child 2 years later and second child 3 years after that. We have been married for 19 years this past August and we are still happy and very much in love. Best decision I have ever made. I wouldn't change a thing!

I met my partner through my brother about 10 years ago. we started talking on the phone and we finally met each other ( behind my brothers back) at a park in manhattan. I was 16 and he was 20. we sat for hours talking. we spoke on the phone off and on for the next 6 or 7 years. we finally started seeing each other exclusively about 2 1/2 years ago. he finally convinced me that we were meant to be after all this time of us just being friends. I was not interested in him he just wasn't my type. But now I cant keep my hands off of him. He is the most wonderful thing that has come into my life ( outside of my niece and nephews) the best thing about it all is that we were really friends for a long time and that hasnt gone anywhere. I can talk to him like I talk to my girlfriends and we understand each other.

2 1/2 years ago, after a heart wrentching divorce at the age of 25, I was getting ready to go out with my stepsister, It was one of those hot summer days when even the breeze is warm..When I arrived there was this guy sitting on her porch...My heart skipped a beat and I thought WOW....Needless to say 2 months later he and I decided we didn't want to be without each other...We have been together ever since, and have a child..we are as happy as can be. This summer we will celebrate 3 years together. We have had our ups and downs but, we face them together.
If you know anything about the zodiac..I am with my exact opposite..he is a Capricorn, and I am a Libra..which is why in the beginning and even know it wasn't a flame between us,,but, and inferno.

high school art class, 16 years ago...I sat behind him, and had a terrible haircut, all spikes; he said he was intrigued by any girl that had the guts to wear such a bizarre haircut, especially at a small-town redneck school, so he had to talk to me - his nickname for me was Rockfish, because apparently that's what my hair reminded him of - (I'm still known only as Rockfish to many people there)
We passed notes all through high school, he got out of art that year with 5% for a grade, and let's be honest, high school art (especially in redneckville) is a slider course... just goes to show how much time we spent on each other.
Three years later, at 19, we lost our virginities to each other, started living together, and have never looked back. Now we've been married 10 years and have two precious children...
Until that fateful september day when he sat down in the desk in front of me, I had never believed in love; now I know it's worth anything you need to go through.
Thanks for asking this question, I love reading people's love stories!

I met my boyfriend on Faceparty 6 month ago, we met up in a pub and it all went fine until i found out he was on swingers websites, the trust went down hill after then, he had a lot to hide! 6 month on and were still together and we dont get on at all, because of the many things he has done through out the relationship. were both 23.
I would never advise anyone to meet people off the internet, too many people have secrets, and the internet is full of deception!

OK so I was 18 and so was she. It was October of 1999. I was just getting off work at about 11pm and I went through the drive thru at McDonald's. I ordered my usual double quarter with cheese combo ketchup mustard only with a Dr pepper to drink. So i drove up and handed the girl at the window my money and she gave me my drink. she also gave me a rather funny grin and then proceeded to slam the window in my face!. when she opened it again to give me my change she asked " Are you married?" I replied "no I'm only 18 way to young to get married". Then she ask if i was dating anyone " i replied "sort of but nothing serious". At that she again slammed the window in my face. When she came back out and gave me my bag of munchies she said" look on you fry box." and slammed the window again. I pulled off and took the fry box out and the was a post it that said "I think you are cute call me Julie" and it gave her number. So I called her later cause I thought she was a cutie too. Here almost 8 years and 2 kids later we have been married for 6 years and couldn't be happier

Me and my bloke were both heading rapidly towards fifty, with a marriage each and several kids each. We met through a text chat service. I only answered his first text cos the music system at the club where i was had broken and everyone was standing around like lemons. Our first date was at McDonalds, 3pm on a Saturday, meeting for coffee. We stayed out til 5 the next morning, went for a meal, to the pub, to the motorway service station for coffee. down to Manchester to look at where he worked (in the dark!) and talked ourselves silly. We have been inseparable since. We got married by an Elvis impersonator (although I believe it was really THE Elvis) in Las Vegas almost two years ago and honeymooned in Hawaii and San Francisco. He is my little cherub an I love him to bits.

I met my partner when he was 18 years old and I was 9 years old. He was with his sister who is a year older than I am. He just admired me from afar because I was just a kid.
His destiny took him several thousand miles away and I grew up. Several years later, I, too, came to the same place to study. We happened to meet up at the same place where he was working and where I had a part-time job as a student. We happened to walk in the entrance at the same time and recognized each other. This time I was old enough to be courted by him, seven thousand miles from where he first saw me.
. . . and now we live very happily . . .
