The daughters got it in their head that they needed to preserve their family's line.... definitely not God's way...
From those pregnanies the Moabites and Ammonites people came - which litter Israelites history with much strife and many foreign gods.
The Bible is a history of God's grace as well as man's mistakes.
If they pursued their desire to preserve the family line God's way instead concoct a plan of drunkenness, deception, and fornication, no doubt the results would have been much more favorable for everyone.
They could have consulted their father, prayed and petitioned God for wisdom, check their assumptions, or perhaps even go to Abraham... they would have probably made a much wiser choice then what they did.

Because in the bible Lot was a "righteous man" (According to Peter), and "obviously" a righteous man would not willingly sleep with his daughters unless drunk...
Of course the whole thing about getting an erection, and actively participating willingly (not even drunks get THAT messed up) is not explained. It's a fable to show how manipulative and evil women are and how alcohol is a bad thing that influences "righteous" men.
Basically it's attacking women and alcohol.

Sounds to me like getting drunk was just an excuse used to do something he knew would look bad. Sorta like how many nutjobs do terrible things and then hide under the blanket of God's forgiveness or use thier religion as a scapegoat.
Were his daughters hot? Or was he just REALLY horny?

They purposely got him drunk so they could "lie" with him, and continue the family line. Really, they kinda date raped their dad. D:
Incest really isn't such a bad thing in Genesis though, since everyone seems to be doing it. o_O

I don't understand you question. If they got him into a drunlken stupor (he has his giant share of responsiblity there) - I suppose they could have their way with him.
