Only if the dog has an extremely bad temperament and a clueless owner.

It's not play biting is it? Sometimes when people are playing rough with them, they get excited and bite a little harder. But what you have to watch out for is .... if he is biting when he is angry like when you touch his food. Or when you're stopping him from doing what he wants to do. By the time they are adults, they should know how to wrestle without biting too hard. If you're talking about biting strangers, then "Mr. Thumbs Up" has the right answer.

NO!!!!!!
I have owned shepherds for years now and have never had one bite anyone I didn't want bit. I had soemone break in and my last dog tore the guy up so bad he laid down on my front yard and waited for an ambulance. yet the very same dog wouldn't even look at another person who wasn't harming us.
You have a responsibility to the hard work that is put into this breed. its the most noble, most loving creature on this planet. Mine, although 100lbs and capable of killing anyone, sleeps in my room most of the time, and occasionally my 6 year olds sons room.
My first suggestion is you teach your dog who "the leader of the pack" is. Once he knows he's not in charge, he'll stop being as agressive. my dog knows his first job is to tell me someone is here, his second is to wait on my command. if I'm not here, his job is to make sure the person knows they had better not come in.
there is no suck thing as a bad shepherd, just bad owners.

No. Either she wasn't socialized enough or she's been abused. Dogs aren't typically aggressive towards people if they've been properly exposed to them. She'd also be agressive if she was struck by a human or someone enforced the aggressive behavior.
The best thing to do is to keep a muzzle on her and take her out to public places to get her used to being around people. Of course, contact your vet first to see if that would be a good idea or if they would know any other solutions.

It could be. You need to take her to training to try and stop her from being aggressive. However that doesnt always work. My female German Shepherd is very aggressive and will bite people she doesnt know. so we have taken precausions to make sure everyone in our neighborhood is safe. She is in a yard with a 6ft fence and signs that say beware of dog. That is all we can do so if someone comes onto our property they have been warned. I know my GSD is a very loving dog but is very protective of us and our house. She only is aggressive if she doesnt know the person or feels threatened. I would try taking your dog to classes and see if that helps. Mine is well trained and listens very well but we chose to keep her a little aggressive so she would be a great guard dog. The neighbors know she is there and respect that she can and will bite if she doesnt know them and they let her be unless my husband or I are out with her and then they approach with caution. With the right training your dog can fix that problem or learn when she can and when she cant bite. Hope this helps

Not that I know of, but remember the dog is protecting you. I have known two GS's with different mentalities. The first GS was LOBO, he was owned by my aunt. I was a kid and LOBO was a GREAT dog. He protected all of us from water moccasins. He would kill the snakes and haul them off. IF any of us walked near them LOBO would stand between us and the snake growling until we walked away. LOBO would play and wrestle but he would protect us when needed
The second GS was owned by my friends wife. If you got near the wife the dog would let you know to get away from her. She would finally have to put the GS in a different room. You always knew you had to keep eyes and ears opened until she quarantined the GS.

No, this dog was probably not trained very well when a pup, or her food and stuff was always taken away from her, and now she is protective of her stuff. I have a Border Collie mix, that was
dumped by someone, and was at first very aggressive of his food, and bit a little kid, that just wanted to pet him. He was
probably abused by little kids before, and just wanted to protect
himself from more pain. Now he is much better, but still needs to be watched with kids. Hope this helps.

It's normal for dogs, sometimes....There's an old saying: " Never trust dogs so blind", or " Feed a dog so he can bark at you ".
Well, it also depends of the dog's age. Maybe, the dog got depressed and let loosed of his anger. German shepards don't normally attack their boss.

usually not, that is a bad temperment. I had a shepard mix and she did not bite anyone unless they were intruders (which never happened) but if we were there she did not bite.

yes and no. It is normal for dogs that aren't trained to bite, but if your dog is trained than it shouldn't bite people. You should disapline your dog and then it probably wouldn't bite people everychance it got
