Drooling comes from watching someone eat some good smelling food, nervousness or overheating. Your dog probably doesn't feel secure in the car and needs to be acclimated with shorter trips. Our collie constantly yawns while in the car to keep herself from drooling and throwing up. It's pretty annoying but every dog is different. I wouldn't worry about not knowing how to pant, she won't cool off by drooling so it's bound to come around.

I'm assuming you imply a hatch again while you seek advice from the trunk. Relying upon the historical past of your dog might give an explanation for this anxiety related to auto rides. But we're no longer aiming for a intent, we're watching for a solution. Get a steel dog crate of compatible size for the dog with a purpose to match within the car. The metallic crates present the most air flow (which it seems like he desires) and will stand up to his bodily antics. This may occasionally also hold him seperated from the other dogs, easing their possess remedy, keep his drool to himself and confine him physically thus retaining himself and different vehicle occupants riskless. If it were me, i would take him in every single place, supplied the travel is risk-free (no prolonged time left in a scorching auto, and so on.). He would not always have got to be "taken" wherever as so much as he wants to get used to being within the car. Brief, regular trips are what i'd do. On longer trips, akin to the ten hour ordeal, i would consult the vet a couple of mild sedative. Ten hours of stress on him is not good.... And as you understand, wears you out, too.

No, she is drooling because she's car sick. I recommend riding with a window slightly open and also making sure your dog is at a height to see out the window. Having fresh air and being able to see the horizon are important in keeping the dog's stomach settled. Also, do not feed just before traveling because the next step after drooling is vomiting.

I have 2 Pekingese puppies, and 1 did this in the car.
I found out she hadn't been in the car much before, and was stressed out, and scared. So it was like she just couldn't control
her drool. I'm no expert but I think that your dog probably has the
same problem, just kind of scared. My pups don't pant that much either. But all dogs have to know how to pant, otherwise they would probably die, so I'd say your dog is pretty normal. Hope this helps.

if your dog is drooling in the car, not panting is not the cause of it. dogs can frequently get car sick, this is where the drooling comes in. just like a human whose mouth waters when they get ready to toss their cookies, dogs do the same thing. hope this helps

No, she's drooling because she, like a lot of dogs, is nervous of riding in the car. To get her used to it, take her for very, very short rides, with a short walk, then the ride home. If you repeat this and make it a fun time for them, most dogs get used to car trips. It also helps a lot of dogs it they can see where they're going.

Dogs drool when they are excited too. Think of all the good smells that are in the car...and out.

Panting is instinct so she knows how. She may be car sick (motion sickness).
You didn't say what kind of dog or what the weather is like so the only thing I can think of car sickness.

She might just be drooling because she's nervous. Does she have a drooling problem any other time, or just in the car?
