Advantages:
* Vitamin C, predominantely boosts the immune system, to prevent your body being susceptible to colds or minor diseases, infections and disorders.
* Vitamin C plays an essential part in the incorporation of proline into collagen and is also involved in the formation of elastin. With a deficiency of vitamin C impaired collagen is created and the skin can become more wrinkled. The replacement of vitamin C boosts the manufacture collagen and so wrinkles can become less noticeable after using vitamin C. You should notice an improvement after taking the RDA (Recommended Daily Amount) in about 2 weeks.
* Promotes the healing of cuts, abrasions and wounds.
* Appears to dilate (widen, enlarge) blood vessels and thereby lessen the risk of developing high blood pressure and heart disease.
* Helps regulate cholesterol levels.
* Appears to lower the risk of developing cataracts, clouding of the lens of the eye that impairs vision.
*** However, unless you have a severe deficiency, you should not need to take a Vit C tablet. Many foods contain natural sources of the acid. Some of which are;
* Fruits: oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits, tangerines, pears, bananas, melons, papayas, strawberries, mangos, blackberries, blueberries, kiwis, pineapples, watermelons, raspberries, cranberries, cantaloupes, rose hips,acerola cherries.
* Vegetables: asparagus, broccoli, green peppers, red peppers, cabbage, kale, cauliflower, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, squash, peas, turnips, turnip greens, onions, corn, pumpkins, carrots, parsley, sauerkraut.
* Herbs: garlic, watercress.
Hope this has solved your question.

I wouldn't take vitamin C just to see an improvment in your skin, there are better supplements to take for skin.
But as a general supplement to keep colds at bay and improve the immune system then Vitamin C is good but I doubt you would actually see a visable improvement on any level.
Hope this helps?!
