You should go to the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have a complete list of what you are allowed and not allowed to bring in both your checked and carry on luggage, as well as how certain items need to be packed.

Hope this helps and have great trip!

Yes. The government's Transportation Security Administration has a website that lists all of the permitted and prohibited items for carry-on on airplanes;

You simply type the following into the Yahoo seach box:

" tsa permitted and prohibited items "

When you click onto this search, the first website on the list is the TSA website. It gives you ALL the information you need.

Good luck, and enjoy your trip. No sweat .

Hi - about what to take - this website might be useful:
http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/United_States_of_America/Florida/Packing_Lists-Florida-BR-1.html

About what may go into hand luggage & what into your baggage - then the best place to look is probably the website of the company supplying your flight tickets. (Though the information is probably on any blurb that you've received from your travel agent. I'd recommend that you contact them if it isn't.)

For example - Virgin have some information about handluggage on their site in the FAQ bit:
http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/info/important/faqs/default.aspx?category=7#84

First Choice has a list of what is strictly forbidden:

(I'd never really thought of a knitting needle as a lethal weapon before)

And this also may help:

Here's the US Transportation Security Administration's website with their list of permitted and prohibited items: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm
