Have someone hold it.....Do you have any younger siblings that don't have a part in the wedding...or how about a cousin or something. Ask one of your bridesmaids kids or something....Just ask someone in your family. My Aunt had her wedding planner do it for her and it worked out fine.

if you are having an outdoor or casual wedding no train is better. When I was getting married in 1986 my mother decreed that since I was having a home wedding I could not have a train. So I picked a dress specifically to have the train removed. When I went to try it on for the fitting my mom saw it with the train and burst into tears and reversed her decision and said I had to keep it. [turns out she was bi-polar... who knew?] Anyway I was having a daytime outdoor reception on 6/29 and now I needed a stupid slip and a bustle and all I did was sweat my butt off. The train and bustle were a real hassle

Your train will look much better for the ceremony if it is loose. The maid of honor usually carries and arranges your train for you so that it looks good at all times. Also, when you walk down the aisle have the maid of honor walk behind you to keep you looking your best at all times. The bustling would be more suited for the reception when you want to be more comfortable and have some fun.

It is politically correct to
A) Bustle it.
B) Enlist a Jr. Bride
C) anyother special young one that doesnt have a part.
Either way this dress will probably get dirty on the bottom at some point. Bustle it and it wont touch... having someone do it is very nice also... but they cant do it all night... so it is really up to you. Its your wedding day!

You can have it carried. Get two young girls to carry the train, one on either side of you so it doesn't drag the ground. It's a good way for your nieces or daughters or the daughters of your friends or family to be involved in the wedding. Let them both wear the same dress as the flower girl(s), that will look so lovely.

You can either bustle it for the walk, and have one of your ladies let it down for you and arrange it once you're at the altar, or have someone carry it for you.
A flower girl might be enlisted to carry the train, or one of your bridesmaids.

A long, floor length train is designed for a formal ceremony. Use a short train since and outdoor wedding IS considered informal. It's proper ettiquette. Congratulations!

Not sure if this is good "wedding ettiquette" or not, but you can do with it what you will.
Perhaps you can cover the sidewalk with a runner so that your train won't have anything to snag on?
Personally, I don't like the idea of needing people to carry my garments...

You need your train out to walk down the aisle. Traditionally there are two "train-bearers" who will assist with your train down the aisle. These are generally boys ages 7-9.

I would have someone walk behind me cause if you bustle it ,it could come loose and you might not know it and tear it on something better safe than sorry. good luck on your marriage .
