I went to Best Buy to check out the prices and Windows XP still costs $200 and for another $150 I could get a new PC. My PC is abvout 4 years old so I no longer have the disc that came with it, and I was wondering is there anything I can do at this point? Is there a web-site I can download the XP to a floppy disc? I'm lost......I'm currently in the Army Reserves and my e-mails are very important, however I don't have the money right now to be spending it on computers....any answers would be appreciated...

Was your original Windows XP registered with Microsoft? If so, there might be something they could do to help you with this. You can contact Customer Service by phone Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. to 10 P.M. (Eastern Time), at 1-888-218-5617.

I'd give you XP if I could, but I can't. If you were in my home town, I'd have your computer restored for you. I'm not able to do either of these, so the best I can do is tell you to tell the Microsoft people the truth as you've outlined it here and see what they can do to help.

well you can contact the company that made your pc. They usually send you a back up disk for free or like 35 dollars, which would be a lot cheaper than buying XP itself, especially since Vista has came out already. There are places online where you can download XP but that's illegal and I don't think you would want to install something like that on your pc. So just contact support about it and they will help find a solution, if it's a dell you usually can use someone else's back up disk as your own.
