I met this guy and he asked for my number. We kept missing each other and we finally talked for 5 minutes or so. He said he was going to call back but never did. Is it possible to lose interest in somene that fast?

Yes it's possible. For all you know, he met someone else, but felt obligated to return your calls. Once he did, he decided he didn't want to pursue it. It's possible he wasn't all that interested to begin with, but at the time, a girl's number was better than nothing.
