my friend and i are in girl scouts and we are cadettes. my friends mom is a junior leader, and her co leader has 2 daughters who are seniors (in girl scouts) and they think they can help us with EVERYTHING we do just because we arent in a troop at the moment. they think they are going to help us with everything we do. and its getting on mine and my friends nerves. we dont even like them at all! (they dont know that) so how do we tell them that we can work on things on our OWN without being helped and babied?

You could just tell that while you appreciate their help you would feel more accomplished if you were able to complete tasks on your own.

Tell them just like you just told us. Start with saying, I'm not trying to be ugly or anything like that, but we can work on things on our OWN without being helped and babied. We want to try to do things for ourselves for a change. Thats not being mean, it's just speaking your mind.

Talk to the mom who is a leader and assure her that you will ask for help when you need it.

Why do you not like them? You know... you are going to be the leaders of tomorrow.. There may be things that you do not know about... What do you do? Get people who DO know... You learn how to develop this skill now.. Just this one skill... you will be really successful.. Good luck!

Tell them how you feel, prove that you two can do the work on your own. Once you prove that you can do it, they will likely back off.
