From years of experience I will advise to let nature take its course and let them work it out, Just keep an eye on the dog! Believe me, your cat will set the boundaries on this new intruder into her domain. She can get away from him easily. He has maybe never seen a cat and is scaird of her.

Put her food/water where he isn't tempted, plus the litter box as most dogs like to mess in litter.

You might try interacting with both while hanging out watching tv. Pay attention to both when in same room. Dog is curious and cat will let dog know when too close. He may get a scratch or 2 before they settle in. Clean and neosporin for that.

May take awhile but will not be a problem unless you interfer too much. They work these things out with time.

Been fostering dogs and cats for years now. No one ever hurt, except their pride!

You can't really do anything..the cat just has to get used to the dog and that might not even work since the cat isn't a kitten anymore. I have two cats and when I got my puppy I thought it would just take time but it has been a year and they still do not like my puppy at all. On the other hand though I also got a kitten after I got the puppy and they absolutely love each other. It depends all on the cat's personality. The cat may never be completely comfortable with the dog. Good luck!

First of all, don't push it, just give them time. The cat is used to being the baby, and obviuosly a little put off by a large 4 legged thing in the house. Make sure to continue to give both of them love and attention. The cat will smell the new dog on you, see you interacting with the dog and not being eaten :) and eventually understand that he's harmless and there to stay. Even if they don't become fast friends, they will tolerate eachother.

i suggest taking them someplace and introducing them other then the home because the cat feels like the dog is invaiding there space. But easier said then done with a cat unless its harness trained which i never do that to any cats, i don't know about you, umm i guess with time they will get use to eachother hopefully

Just leave them be. They will get used to each other eventually & before you know it they'll be sleeping together.
