Is anyone else disturbed that the Federal Govt. would go to such lengths to protect an illegal criminal, and throw two of its own citizens in jail?

I think these two HEROS got a raw deal and the this Government is despicable in protecting those that are trying to protect us. It makes me sick!

Also it took (I think it was Ramos who was beaten in prison) over THREE days for them to get medical attention after he was beaten. He was complaining of migraines and they ignored it and gave him Motrin by the nurse...but he didn't see a Dr. until 3 days. The nurse ignored his complaints. Is THIS AMERICA? it seems like this would be something that you see over in Iraq verses the USA!! JESUS, it gets me burned!

The level of corruption and cover up on this case is just beginning to be uncovered. These two agents were doing their jobs on that day. The number of attacks on Border Patrol Agents in the El Paso Sector are up 50% in the last year. Hopefully these two will be out soon and get a new trial. They will then be allowed to prove their innocence. As for Mendi8 walk a few steps in the shoes of a Border Patrol Agent before you make the statements you do. Take a look at the facts of this case. Border Patrol Agents are allowed to defend themselves and others.

This is a joke to the U.S, I would have made sure this guy was dead! If one was to research this it might lead back to the U.S government having something to do with yet another cover up. Now since the Mexican government hands out GPS for the people wanting to make the crossing into U.S borders.
It plays into the North American Union (NAU), Bank of America giving Illegal immigrants credit cards.
That's what I think about it :)

The U.S Attorney that prosecuted that case is a Democrat. Need I say more?
There should be, under no circumstances, any reason a man like that is allowed to walk while 2 perfectly good border agents are serving time.
Then there should not be any reason as to why Bush has not pardoned them both by now as well.
We need someone in '08 that is not afraid to take our country back to where it needs to be and that is in the hands of the American people. Not in the hands of the world.

I find what they are doing to these men very disturbing, but not surprising. Does anyone remember this story of government conspiracy to imprison this man for doing his job? They refused to allow testimony that would have prevented his conviction. I wonder how often this happens without the public finding out about it.

Apparently this issue isn't so much about drugs, but who the government currently wants to control and why.

I read it, my sense of irony deepening, but without great surprise until I got to the end where it says the dept of homeland security gave the drug runner a multiple use border pass.

I don't even know what to say to that.

But when I stop being stunned, I'm sure I'll think of something.

Meanwhile people should read your link if only to enjoy the reticence of our Orange County House Rep, who was hilarious, in my opinion.

The whole thing is fishy......it didn't seem right from the very beginning. To think that they haven't done something to ATLEAST let these guys out till their appeal is heard is beyond me. I beleive they have been thrown to the wolves for some major corruption by others. I beleive they deserve a medal....not this. I hope they fight and get every last person nailed to the wall for this injustice.

This and many more things point to Bush and his open borders plan. They are doing all they can to keep the border open, keep Mexico happy. I think when they voted for the fence, it stuck in Bushs gut, and he wants to get even. We all need to keep in mind, those that signed on to get these guys pardoned, and even more, those that did not sign it.

It is said that evidence was suppressed by the prosecution. It's a can of worms that politicians are ignoring.
