Prior to 1948, the Jews did not have a homeland, and went through the worst of persecutions. Since 1948, they seem to have miraculously regained their homeland, the dead sea scrolls, and economic and military success.
What's next?

To Bird: check your old testament verses. God reduced the "land of Israel" to the area west of the Jordon. The rest of the area belongs to Abraham's other son: Ishmael.

No the milliennium did not started in 1948, That was only when Israel became a nation again. You ask what comes next, Eze.Chapter 25, Israel will fight a war To gain ALL their land back, from River Egypt, to river Euphrates down to Dedan in Saudia Arabia, & ALL of Jerusalem, Then that will set the stage for Eze. Chapter 38 & 39 to be in place. That will set the stage for Daniel 70th week to begin. Then you have 1260 days allotted to 2 Prophets in Israel Then the anti-christ will have them killed & then the last part of Daniels 70th week will be the great tribulation for 1260 days or 3 1/2 yrs. Then Rev 19:14 You see Christ & his Bride coming back & Armegeddon is fought. That sets the stage for The Milliennium.

No, The millennium did not begin in 1948, If you are inquiring about the One Thousand year reign of Christ that is spoken about in Revelation Chapter 20;1-15 then no it has not begun.
Also it should be noted that the Nation of Israel which had God's favor as a nation no longer does. When they the Jewish Religious leaders responsible for the rejection and death of Jesus turned their backs on their true God, he in turn, turned his back on them as a nation and divorced them and allowed the other nations to trample over them.
As individuals Jews can like anyone else have a relationship with God, Using the Christian arrangement. In fact many did while and after Jesus death. As to when the thousand year reign begins the scriptures are plain as to why no one knows. Mathew 24:36
The next thing to think about is : No man ruled nation on earth will ever be favored by God? (Daniel 2:44) God's rule will be from heaven, but over the earth of peoples that favor and want his way of rule.
The seat of his government will though be a seat of kings taken from the earth and Jesus will be their head, see Revelation 5:8-10. A person needs to remember that in order to understand God's plans, he must make an effort to study Gods book. For example see Psalms 37:9-11,29 and Revelation 1:3, Revelation 20:4-6 gemhandy@hotmail.com

Yep, thats right. It didn't start the millennium, though, what it started was the Generation of the Fig Tree, or what we call the "end" or last generation of this earth age.
The date was May 15, 1948 -
The millinium is the 1000 year period of teaching and disipline that will start when Christ returns.

No, there's a lot to come yet before the millennium. The Jews regaining Israel was just one of the signs. Keep watching, they'll all come in time.

The tribulation is suppose to begin during the generation of Israel becoming a nation again, which gives us any time between now and 2018 for things to heat up.

the second millennium began on 1 Jan 2001, therefore your date in 1948 was in the latter part of the first millennium.

I do not believe so. I believe that Christ will return to judge before the Millennium. Also, there is no peace on the planet. I believe the scriptures clearly refer to this.

No, because we do not have peace in the world yet.
What is next is the battle to end the world as we know it, the battle for Israel (Armageddon).

Hum, "paulsamuel33" below said essentially the same thing that I did, and I get the thumbs down, and he doesn't. Fishy. ;-)
