The pain feels like someone is drilling in my head. It hurts so bad that I can not move until it passes through. I think it has something to do with my nerves but I am not sure. When it happens it tenses the whole side, and it is only on the right side.

The longest that the pain has ever been has been for 30 sec, but during that time, like I said I couldn't move any part of my body. It was like being temporally paralazyed. Does this make sense to any one, or has any one experienced any of this.

Any information would be very helpful.

go see a chiropractor and a massage therapist. your C1, C2, and/or C3 are probably out of alignment.. and your suboccipital muscles, and/or trapezius (1st head) and other neck muscles are probably tight and pulling on these bones.

I use both a chiropractor and a massage therapist. The book was recomended by my chiro.
Read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
Trigger points are knots in the muscles making them tight which in turn causes them to apply pressure to nerves and other places.

i get really sharp pains in that same area, actually its bothering me right now. but i dont get the palalized feeling. the only thing i can think of is to do what i do and take some advil of whatever you take. The reason i think i get it is because your spine in your neck is suppose to have a slight curve and mine doesnt you could always go to a chropractor.

go to a chiropractor. it could be your nerves being pinched by your vertebrae being out of alignment...

but it you don't believe it that....go to a doctor.

the very first and second vertebrae in your neck are also called the atlas and axis in the cervical vertebrae.......those two can fuse together. I've heard its painful.

i sometimes have that pain. it can be really annoying! it mostly happens when it's really cold outside so my muscles along with nerves tighten up. it probably goes the same for yours?

but i highly recommend you to get it checked up since yours seems worse than mine.
