If the puppy was taken away from the mother too soon, what can I do for the puppies? Do they take milk? if so what kind of milk? Or what could I do? They are 6 or 7 weeks old and if they are too young to be taken away from their mother, what can I do for them? Any advice would be good.

At 6 or 7 weeks, they should be eating solid food. Feed them a good quality puppy kibble, soaked in hot broth or hot water until it is very soft..Feed it warm..If they are reluctant to eat it from a pie pan, then mush it up and feed from your finger tips until they catch on..DO NOT give them any milk..unless it is goat's milk or puppy formula..Cow's Milk will cause diarrhea, which is very dangerous to a puppy..

they will need to be de-wormed this week, and vaccinated as soon as possible..You can get wormers at your pet supply that are OK for roundworms..Ask which ones they carry that are safe for puppies that young.. (nearly all pups have roundworms, as they get them from their mom)..However, the wormer that your vet sells will work the best..

don't allow them to get a chill..Make them bedding in a warm area.

Six or seven weeks is not so young. Most of the puppies I have ever gotten were about that age.

Just baby them. Keep them warm and don't let them feel alone. Call you vet for food suggestions. Any good puppy chow should be fine. I like NutraMax, but that is just a personal preference. By this age, they should be weaned from Mom. Cow's milk is not good for them.

first get a regular baby bottle with baby formula or just plain vitamin d milk second by a can of soft food and use a spoon or your fingers and force it into the puppies mouth this will give it a taste of what is ahead second when your arent feeding this puppy put a bowl of food and milk by it so that it can try on its own third if this puppy is 6 or 7 weeks old by now that puppy should be ready to go if this is the runt these dogs do get like this most runts are the ones that dont make it out of the litter i just had a dog that had ten puppies and i had to feed them on my own just make sure this puppy keeps food on its stomach also when you feed her this milk make sure to rub its belly and try to get it to burp for you

Milk replacer is available at any good pet store although it may not be necessary at that age anymore. They can also start eating puppy food at that age.

Your bigger concern though should be socializing them. At that age they still are learning from the mother and the other litter mates how to behave, things like bite inhibition, how to play etc. It's great that you have 2 of them, but be sure to take them to training classes before they are 12 weeks of age so they can still learn these things.

You can buy replacement milk at a pet store. We had a cat that wouldn't eat solid food. We used one of those hamster water bottles, with the ball on the end. An eyedropper would also work. I would feed them that instead of regular cow's milk, because it might be hard for them to digest it. After awhile, try wetting some dry puppy food with the milk so it gets soft and eventually you can transition to totally dry food that way. That's what we did with my kitten.

It seems you know it's not safe or healthy till 8 weeks or later. They make formula for pups if mothers don't let their pups feed, contact your vet to see what they have available. Do not give dairy milk, dogs are lactose intolerant and it will only make them sick. Ask your local humane society for help also, they might be able to help with cost assistance or fostering till older.
