I believe the person that lived there before me had a Handicap sign placed in front of the apartment for her use. The problem is there is no parking, and there isn't anyone in the vicinity that is Handicapped and could make use of the spot.

According to the law (American with Disabilities Act) if there are more than 6 apartments, a tenant can request to have a disability parking signage put up. By law, the signage has to be put up.

The accessible disability parking space can be used by a guest, unless it states "tenant only". I would just leave it alone, it will become useful to someone else.

If the sign states "Tenant only", and there is not other tenant with disability plates or placard, I would encourage you to talk to your landlord or property management.

The government determines how many handicapped parking places there are in a lot, and they are always located in front. If it was a real handicapped parking space, you might be able to ask the LL to relocate it, but you will probably have to live with it as is.

You can't just have a Handicap spot removed. There are strict guidlines that have to be met by the FD, City hall, and the parking authority. Sorry but the spot it there to stay.

it would be easier for you to just break both of your legs and get your own handicap sticker than to try to have a sign removed
