the jehovas are mereley puppets for their illustrious coward of a leader, who rather than risk his life on teh battlefields of WW1 decoded to claim releigious exemption. charles taze russel was a philanthropist and abject coward.

i know this, as when my dad died i invited tehm in to answer my questions ( death often has one grasping at straws) and they didnt say anything new, oh they could quote chapter and verse, but then again so can i...(yes i have an education)

they accused me of surfing the bible, which was great... and each time they returned they bought a more senior menber of their church to answer my not so simple questions.. in the end they gave up.. it was really quite edifying to watch them fight amongst themselves as they tried to answer my questions...

they left and didn't return.

This belongs in the "Joke" section, since it plainly cannot be true.

Firstly, you grossly underestimate the preaching experience of a typical Jehovah's Witness. An actual Witness knocks on hundreds of doors each month and has dozens of conversations. Please be assured that at least a handful of those conversations progress beyond pleasantries.

Secondly, Jehovah's Witnesses attend a weekly "Service Meeting" which regularly instructs the congregation on how to develop a progressive conversation from the bible. Even if the individual had drawn a complete mental blank, he would have opened a publication such as "What Does the Bible Really Teach" and started discussing the first lesson there.

Thirdly, Jehovah's Witnesses nearly ALWAYS go house to house with a companion (in twos). Few unaccompanied Witnesses would be comfortable going inside a home for more than a moment or two because of the possibility that it would open them up to accusation (without another Witness to witness everything that happens). Safety is a concern also, particularly for Witness women.

This "question" is perhaps most useful in encouraging other householders to offer Jehovah's Witnesses tea and biscuits and cakes.

That is interesting! Are you sure this person was one of Jehovah's
Witnesses? The reason I ask that is, when witnesses come to a persons door they usually have something in mind to discus.
Im not saying that new ones dont get nervous and maybe forget
what they had in mind to relate to the house holder, afterall we are
just human beings like the rest of you.And usually new ones are
accompanied by older or more experienced people to kind of help
and guide the newer ones.I would like to suggest that if you are
sincerly interested in learning about what Jehovahs Witnesses
believe and teach,You can go to there web site.
(www.watchtower.org) or contact them in your area, they are usually listed in the phone book.Im just about positive you will have
all your questions answered to your satisfaction.

it is possible he was not a Witness at all and used it as an excuse to get into your home. I would be hesitant to invite strangers into my residence and show them around. Now this person has a general idea of the layout of your house as well as where some of your valuables are kept. Just something to think about. If he was there to talk to you about God or her religion, you can trust that he would have had some literature to give you and would know what he wanted to say. I would be sure to lock all your doors and windows and would not show your house to strangers in the future.

When I knock on a door first of all I present myself. Then I say why I'm there. So, I really don't think that person was a witness or maybe it's an invention of yours. It happened to me to be invited in (by a man) but I and the person I was with refused his invitation.

I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago (and this is straight up!) - there was a knock on the door - I was a bit busy but I answered the door. Two guys were stood there, in suits with name badges - I said sorry, I'm a Roman Catholic and Im also quite busy at the moment - One of them said do you know who we are? - I said yeah, your Mormons and I still say Im Catholic and busy and have a nice day - They had looks of astonishment on their faces as I closed the door - but they have never been back!!!

So what did he say about his religion? If he didn't say anything then he might not be one? Did he show you what the bible says or did you ask him any questions and get any answers?
For example what is God's kingdom and what will it do for mankind? gemhandy@hotmail.com
