Hiccups are a result of a lack of oxygen. Consider how you smoke. If you smoke fast, like when you're on a break and you're trying to finish your cigarette quick, you may not be getting enough air between puffs. Just slow down and breath between puffs. That should help.

I have had similar problems. It has to do with the air around you. If it is moist and you inhale and then continue with moist air you will hiccup. Some people don't because they inhale directly but some do because they breathe in and hold the smoke in their mouth before opening their mouth to inhale the smoke + air which will cause a hiccup if it is humid/raining or you have recently drank a soda! The following link has more information but for me it is the temperature change and only happens occasionally!

Your bodies way of telling you -- it needs more oxygen is to yawn and to hick up, so when you smoke you are getting less oxygen, its that simple,, i hope this helps you,,
