You should never date exes' friends or friends' exes. It will only end in upset for everyone involved. Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear, but its true.

you will probably lose your friendship with the ex but if the two of you are not going to work things out and try to get back together then it shouldn't matter whom you are with
