Never because everything in my house has voice recognition. I just say "TV ON!" and it turns on. "TV, channel 331" and MTV comes on...

I lose it inside the couch...that's about it.
A little story, though. A little over ten years ago, before I was married, and still living with my parents, the house burnt down. We were at home at the time, and my fiancé was visiting. We all ran out. My fiancé "saved" the remote, which was still in his hand. What is it with men and remotes??/

I lose my remote control all the time. So I stuck a magnet on the back of the remote. Then you can stick it to any metal surface. Just do not stick it on the T.V. because you will ruin the T.V.
