Yes, it is herpes. The virus that causes cold sores is called Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) type 1. This is not the same as Herpes Simplex Virus type 2 which causes genital herpes. Once you get HSV, you have it forever. Once the cold sores go away, the virus stays in your body but it is inactive. However, certain things like stress, sickness, etc...can trigger the virus to become active again.

I got diagnosed with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 6 years ago, while I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I understand loads of young ladies will declare this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone who has sores round her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/ypp57 everything got better.

Not only was I able to eradicate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This method gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

Well I was reading a book and Cold Sores are a "form" of herpes but that doesn't mean that it is herpes. Have a doctor check it out.

Yes, it is the herpes virus, but don't worry. It is a different strain than the herpes virus that causes genital herpes.
