Yes , until 7,000 years ago it was joined to the continent and is part of the continental land mass in the same way that Sicily is considered to be part of Italy.
There has been a long history of migration from Europe . The English came from Northern Germany about 1400 years ago and most monarchs of England since 1066 have been of French or German origin.

certain and no... the united kingdom is area of the european Union and very few miles from the continent so politically and traditionally England is area of Europe, yet in historic and cultural words England has some distance more beneficial in undemanding with its nearest English-talking friends in eire, Canada, and the U. S.. England is equivalent to a land unto itself, geographically slightly break away Europe and yet energetic in mainland eu affairs.

yes in terms of eu,We had the roaming presidency of th Euroean Union a couple of yours.
Culturally we are different to the Western Europeans. We are 'stiff upper lip'and show less emotions, but wish we were more like the other europeans[ze gzermans excluded],more pasionate, laid back and intune with our emotions;and expressing them more.
Eastern europeans we look down upon[all western europeans].Thes are former communists countries. We think they are all criminals who are gonna flood the uk.However they do send over good plumbers, builders and beautifull hookers.

depends who ur asking. if u ask a british person, they consider europe to be a separate entity. if u talk to someone else, they will just think england is part of europe.
if you go to a british post office, they sell travel insurance for holidays to europe.
if you go to a petrol station, they sell gb stickers for "driving in europe."
if you read the news, they say guns are being smuggled in from europe.
for these reasons, you can conclude that british people dont consider themselves a part of europe.
