my ex and I were on talking terms after breaking up in mid August. We recently started talking like in November and he used to tell me he wanted to get back together but I refused and said I needed more time because he's the one that wanted to take a "break" in the first place. Anyway, so I said we can be friends and he asked me to be his "valentine"...Well, he never called me the night before we had a talk and he left me hanging to answer his friend "Eric's" call at 1 AM! And on Valentine's day.. Nothing. Not one call. So he "IMed" last night instead of just calling me on the phone and said that he "forgot" to call me because he was busy making plans with his roommates to go to Charlotte this weekend.. What am I suppose to believe??

He played you for a fool and you fell for it. Nobody in their right mind would break up with someone because they want a break from the relationship. I wouldn't doubt it if he cheated on you and didn't have the balls to be honest about it. I know of a lot in this situation and the truth of the matter is he most likely dumped you for another girl. Now that girl isn't with him anymore so he thinks he has first dibs back into your heart, where he doesn't belong.
You're just being kind and sweet but a little naive, you shouldn't be talking to a sorry son of a ***** like him. Ignore him, move on, find someone else that won't play mind games with you.

Let it go.
If you arent worth the phone call on valentine's day, its not going to be worth YOUR effort to keep the relationship going. there are other better partners out there for you that will do some sweet things for you on this holiday.
Happy Valentines Day!

He IMed you because he felt guilty and did not want to face you. I would say he is still taking a break and you have to proceed with caution. It sounds like you don't have much of a reason to trust him...not because of cheating etc...just that you can't count on him.
