How can you tell if the person fitting you knows what their doing. Also if they did it right?

You probably won't. One thing you can do is get fit by 2 different cubfitters. The fitting sessions might cost you but you can then choose the one you were most comfortable with.

One problem is unless your swing is identical every time you play, the fitting session may not be identical to your "game" swing, especially if the fitter makes adjustments (grip, stance, . . .) during your session. But, they will likely have more information than if you bought off the rack. The basic measurements, club length and swing speed, will be accurate enough to get as close as you need.

Are you hitting the custom clubs as well as or better than general rack clubs? If the answer is yes, then he probably knows what he's doing. If no, then find a new fitter. But, don't judge too quickly. It always takes about 10 to 12 rounds to get a true feel for any new irons.

Listen to the way they answer a simple question on a totally unrelated issue. If their answer sounds like they are full of crap, then don't let them tell you that you need these kinds of shafts, lofts and lies, because they don't know!
