A tippmann A5 feeds 15 bps and can fire that fast with an egrip. A smart parts Ion can be upgraded to fire 30 bps. Both can be customized to fit your needs but that might push over the 300. But that can be done overtime.

It all depends on what you are using it for. If you are looking to do tournament style play then I'd say go with the Ion or Evil Pimp. Those are nice guns that work well, don't get too many problems, and very easily serviced.
If you are looking to play more of a Scenario/Woodsball type of things, then I'd have to suggest a Tippmann. The A5 is the most popular next to the heavily used 98 Custom. All in all, all the guns listed at top of the line, easy to get fixed, and cheap to buy.

get a hopper (Halo 2) with rip drive and you have a terrific gun
-very upgradeable
-fast
-easy to take apart
-light
you dont really need any upgrades unless you are going to start playing in tournaments but if you start a paintball team, you will need
-new feedneck
-but good paintballs (stinger)
-new barrel
-new trigger
