I don't get why the LA haters keep giving lame, hateful, useless answers in this category. Are they that hard up for two points?
That question is too vague to be answered easily, if at all. There are so many different cultures here, you can take your pick. There is also "culture", in the sense that there is music, performing arts, and fine arts in the city. It's so huge here, so diverse, that you could spend your entire life here and not take it all in (although it seems that some people spend a little time here and think they've seen it all). If I had to answer your question in one word, I would say "diversity". It's out there, if you only look for it.

It's funny how people say that about a place that probably has MORE cultures than any other city.
The culture of LA cannot be pinned down. It's too diverse.

I'm with obvious. Don't bash the place.
When people say "culture" they usually mean sophisticated urbanites who spend their weekends at the Philharmonic.
LA has everything you could possibly want from a world-class orchestra to ballet to opera to street performers and sidewalk preachers.

Other wise culture of a metropolitan area like LA is really hard to define. Especially since it is filled with many different social ans economic groups as well as many many different ethnicity's.
