There isn't no right way or best way to keep your family from being worried. They will always worry, I know I have been there as a spouse. Your best bet is keeping a positive attitude and write those letters and make the phone calls when you can. This lets your family know that you are ok and well. I wish you well and my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

First, do what I did when I went off for the first gulf "war". Get your family to, for lack of a better term, evaluate you. Do they think you are a clueless idiot? No, and I do not think anyone willing to sign the dotted line is one. Tell them you have a brain and you will use it. You will be okay and make sure your buddies are okay and able to do the job of making sure you're okay. Tell them to trust your decision making ability.
Yes, they'll worry about things you can't control, as mine did, but bottom line they should still support you and not get extremely stressed about what you're doing or where you're doing it. Just keep in touch with them by calling and writing as often as possible.
Or, just get a REMF job and never have to worry about it. Now, if you do not know what a REMF job is, you'll learn. You will also learn that while your family may appreciate you having a REMF job, anyone who isn't a REMF won't fully appreciate you. I know I wasn't really appreciative of REMFs, but I did know I liked getting paid, getting mail, etc.

Take care out there.
Make sure your loved ones know you will not always have the opportunity to contact them. "No news is good news" should be your family's motto while you are gone. Let them know not to worry when (not if) long periods of time that you are unable to call arrive. You MIGHT want to remind them that if (God forbid) something were to happen, the military would notify them asap, usually within hours, so as long as they don't hear anything, everything is ok.

There is no way a family member will not worry about a loved one. You are connected and you will always be connected. You will worry about your family when you are there. You are a hero in every sense of the word, and I pray God Speed and protection for you in your quest for victory against the Devil.

Write, e-mail and call every chance you get. Have a specific person that you write to each time, that will let everyone else know you are OK.

Contact them as much as possible through mail, e-mail, phone and web cam. It's the no contact and everything they hear on the news that probably makes them worry so much.
