Hi Dr Bad,
Michael Turners work has so much dramatic detail in it. I consider him to be a great artist.
I saw some of his work, that someone had enlarged for their own use. The colours were beautiful. Yep, it's all art after all...

Hi katryoshk,
I looked at louis Wain's work, and I think it is fascinating, I adore cats.
I've seen some work of his in a couple of books I have.
Thanks for sharing that information with me...

The art work of Peter Van Dyck, Dana Levin, and Daniel Graves would be welcome on my wall. They are leading the revitalization of classical realism skills in contemporary paintings.

I'm going to restrain myself from a list and narrow it to a single artist. If I had to wake up and see my walls covered with one artist's pictures, it would have to be the English illustrator Louis Wain (1860-1939). It's been said that he is an artist admired by cat-lovers and those interested in schizophrenics. This is because he drew cats, even as he progressed into mental illness. Some of his late work is often shown as an example of schizophrenic progression in psychology textbooks, etc. Initially he began drawing cats to cheer up his wife who was dying from breast cancer. She encouraged him to continue and he became very popular from it. Louis Wain's cats were personified, mischievous and imaginative. When I see his work it just puts me in the best, silly mood. I remember to stop taking things so seriously and dream like a child again. I feel inspired to make things and I remember that no matter what comes my way, I always have my hands and my imagination. It's sappy but that's the truth!
Here are some links to his work:

John Constable was the first artist I admired as a child, and still top of my list. I was brought up in the country, now live in a town, and his paintings are an escape route when the going gets tough.

VanGough absolutely. Monet absolutely; Picaso absolutely; Salvador Dali - maybe certain pieces in the right room. For my den I have Terry Redlin. I also love Ansel Adams b&w photos and love the original Thomas Hart Bentons my parents have in their home, as well as Andrew Wyeth.

Definitely Michelangelo and Raphael for living and dining areas; Picasso for the Master bedroom; for my bath and possibly for a bright sunny room, Monet and Van Gogh--their colors and beautiful scenes are expressive and filled with light.

Albrecht Durer for his self portraits, such a versatile artists, painter, etcher and woodcuts too. And then possibly MC Escher for his brilliant mathematics in construction of his art.

P. A. Renoir....
Myself... Why do I say myself. I have art all across the world, Australia, UK, Belgium, Germany, USA.
Even if you don’t have art all over the world or even sell a lot of it. You can be your best inspiration. Use your everyday life to create your art..

John Blanche
Hieronymus Bosch
Salvidor Dali
I love the artwork of John Blanche. He paints lots of crazy vivid scenes of the future and fantastic monsters. A lot of his work is Gothic and visceral with hints of sex and horror in there too.

Bosch painted a lot of religious scenes. He did a fantastic picture of hell and heaven. I like the characters in his work and the magical beasts. There is lots to see and think about in them, almost like "Where's Wally" but more beautiful.

Salvidor Dali is another favourite of mine. I like the surreal images he uses and the technical brilliance of his works. Melting clocks, dancing elephants and more!

I also like H.R.Giger and Leonardo's works a lot too.
