You should go to a quality shoe store, and try some pairs on and talk to a qualified sales person. I know you are probably trying to avoid this, but there are several factors that go into selecting a quality shoe.

1. What is the shape of your foot - wide, narrow...?
2. Does your foot naturally pronate (roll inward)?
3. What type of exercise will you be doing in this shoe - running, walking, speed walking...?

After all of these questions are answered, the sales person should be able to give you a good idea of what some shoes will offer.

Then, be honest, and tell them you want a less expensive model, or you can just start shopping on the internet for some cheaper prices.

Good luck.

Define cheap...New Balance~the higher the number the better the shoe. I learned that info from an orthepaedic therapist. It's the comfort for what upholds you...can you put a price on that?
